1952 Rinso Name Game Promotion

The Rinso Name Game was an advertising campaign tied to the 1952 US theatrical re-release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Sponsored by Rinso laundry detergent, the promotional give-away offered 1450 prizes worth over $100,000. All the participants need do was to mail in the names of the four characters pictured in the ad--Grumpy, Dopey, Snow White, and Sleepy--plus include a made-up name for the "Rinso bird".

A full-color advert featuring the image of radio and television personality, Arthur Godfrey, was published "in 232 Sunday and daily newspapers from April 3 thru May 11, 1952".
