Grolier "Magic Memories" Snow White Figurine

The first installment in the 17-piece Magic Memories figurine series was Snow White dancing with Dopey on Sneezy's shoulders. Produced by Grolier in the 1980s, the hand-painted bisque porcelain figures were limited to 15,000 each. Retail price $26.25 per piece; issued monthly.

This one stands about 6" tall; the circular base is 3.875" in diameter; and from the edge of Dopey's coat to the hem of Snow White's skirt is about 5.75" wide.

When the collection was first released in the 1980s, it was quite exciting for customers to receive a new piece every 4-6 weeks. The boxes were plain cardboard shippers with no printed images except for the Grolier address and logo.

The sculptures really are quite fetching. The level of craftsmanship raised the bar for modern-day Disney figurines. The quality has since been surpassed by more recent offerings (albeit for higher prices), but the Magic Memories series certainly holds a special place in the hearts of many a collector.
